Question by Keevus: Is it wrong to feed chicken eggs to chickens?
I’ve got a flock of chickens who we basically feed all of our scraps to.
So we had scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning and I was all ‘Hey, they wont know what it is’.
Omnomnom, cannibalism, yes?

It’s not meat, it’s little undeveloped fetuses!

Nothing wrong with that, my grandparents do that all the time.

To me it’s not wrong, it is a very good source of protein. The chickens won’t know what it is. That is our human nature to question that morality of our actions though! Sticking to chicken feed will best suit their nutritional needs, but my chickens love kitchen scraps too as a treat. I only try to stick to fruits and veggie scraps when I give them something though.

there is nothing wrong with giving eggs to a chicken, just mix it in with their other feed. My mom used to make extra egg corn bread, crumble and feed it to the chickens, they started laying double yolk eggs!

There is NO good reason to feed chickens eggs. One exception is to boil the egg shells for 10 to 15 minutes and break them into pieces as small as a corn kernel. They will return calcium to the hens to replace what was used to form the egg shell.

Its ok to give them scrambled eggs but you dont want to just bust eggs and feed them or they sometimes start busting and eating their own eggs when they lay them
