Question by Karlinda: Is Goat Milk Soap Very Rich And Moisturizing For The Skin?
I use Dove, the white bar and it seems to be very moisturizing to my skin. I have heard people rave that goat milk soap is gentler and more moisturizing then most brands, including Dove. Is this true? I was thinking about ordering a few bars but if there are stores that sell thrm then that would be nice. Which brand is best?

  1. Goat Milk Soap is amazing! I have used it before and it did me wonders. I have super super dry legs, like they get scaly which sounds gross but its a genetic thing, and this makes my legs look so hydrated its a miracle worker!

  5. I make spa-quality goat milk soaps with milk from my own goats. This way I know just how fresh the milk is. Here’s a link to my web site that has more information about my goat milk bath and beaut products. Hope this site helps answer your questions about goat milk skin care products.

  6. It absolutely is! I’ve been using goat milk soap for about a year and a half and I will never use soap purchased from a store. My skin has been softer, less itchy, and just all-around better looking in those 18 months. I also used to use department store brand face wash, toner, and lotion, and while it kept my skin looking good, it was really, really expensive. One day I ran out of the face wash, so I used the bar of goat milk soap in my shower, and I have never, ever bought the face wash again. It doesn’t dry out my skin, it smells great, and my face is cleaner than ever before. The stuff I buy is from goatmilkstuff.com. Check it out — it’s awesome!

  7. Because I own a small shop that focuses on products with natural ingredients, I’ve tried a LOT of soaps in the hunt for brands that pass the great value, great product, great price test. I’m not an expert, but do have lots of experience.

I used Dove on a regular basis (and also tried Aveeno and other super-nourishing brands) but have found that cold pressed goats milk, Shea butter, and olive oil based soaps are all more moisturizing for my skin. Goats milk tends to cause the least amount off allergic reactions (there’s nothing that’s absolutely allergen-free), but all three are better than chemical-laden commercial soaps. Good brands will also carry a fragrance free selection for those who can’t handle added scents.

If you purchase good quality soaps, they last as long as the standard commercial brands and you won’t need as much moisturizer and other stuff, so you’re are getting your money’s worth. At Vivo!, we carry Oliba, Antiochia, and have just finished our customer-based testing of Goat’s Milk Soap and they’ll be on our shelves very soon.

    Hope that helps some!
