This was the first time we got seven eggs in one day, out of our seven hens. The green egg on the right is from the Ameraucana and the white one is from the Leghorn. The huge brown one next to the green one was a double-yolker.
Question by just me: im thinking about raising chickens but i dont know where to get permission to do so from or if i need to?
I have plenty room in my backyard to raise chickens, but i also live in a neighborhood where there are houses on either side of mine and behind. I don’t know where exactly to get a permit to raise chickens or if i need one. i live in lake stevens, washington. Ive looked both on the lake stevens website and washington state website and found nothing related to raising farm animals.

Try contacting your city council person and ask if he/she knows, and if not, who do you did need to speak to. They should know whom you can get in contact with if they do not know themselves the answer to your question.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF CHICKENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *chicken enthusiast*
Your best bet is to call your town hall like Deltaflyer12 said. I agree with what she said 100% couldn’t tell you anything better, in fact it’s what i did 🙂
Now time for some chicken info!!!!! 🙂
well i’m feeling surprisingly lazy today after running around after my little cousins today so i’m not gonna give you a whole paragraph. instead i’ll give you a link to the best chicken website (in my opinion) on the web & a few sentences.
Well one i’d like to congratulate you on your thinking of raising chickens. I just have to worn you though, they’re not for everyone. A lot of people think you just buy the chicks stick ’em in a box, watch them hatch then feed ’em & they’re fine. sadly that’s not the case and it’s how a lot of chickens end up in shelters. Especially this time of year when everyone wants the cute little chick in their easter basket (that is until it poops all over their candy & gets big and not so cute). ok well i think i’ve done enough and i’ll let the website do the talking. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read almost all of the website, if not all. most importantly though, the free online chicken care book. it’s not long and is chop full of information.
