She was desperate for a dust bath but hey it was March there was only a lot of wet dirt.

Note the "upside down roll" technique.

Question by Holly Beard: I think my chicken has gape worm?
I have four backyard chickens and one of them has a really squeaky cluck she has had it for about a week now, at first I just thought she had something stuck in her throat but obviously it wasn’t as she has still got the squeak. Please if anyone has got chickens have you got advice. Thank you

  1. This is basically found in the trachea and the bronchi and the lungs this causes respiratory distress.
They Gag shake the heads and stretch out the necks to get air and take a breath for survival. On the other hand it may well be a upper respiratory infection a vet may be in order for best results and treatments.
If the bird has gape worms bad you should be able to see them in the neck if look into the mouth area but do be gentle birds are fragile and you don’t want to harm your birds.
