Question by Miss Kitty: I need answers on raising a baby turkey!?
The kids in my neighborhood were walking around with this little bird one day last week! I thought it was a baby chicken so i took it in because i already have 5 chickens anyway, but i think its a baby turkey! So far i been giving it chicken crumbles and it seems to be doing fine! Anyone know anything about raising baby turkeys???

  1. Look in your phone book. Contact a local poultry farm.

  2. If you indeed have a baby turkey, the main difference in feeding it is that they require a lot more protein than a baby chick. A starter feed with 28% protein would be best for the first 6-8 weeks, then a feed with 16-18% thereafter. However, if you can’t afford to do this, the turkey will most likely live and do fine.
