Question by rhonda c: I live south of Birmingham Alabama and was curious about goats milk and cheese?
I was just wondering if there is a market for organic milk and goats cheese. We have an abundance and the animals are given no chemicals or feed with pesticides. I was just wondering if there is anyone in the area that knows anything about it. Restaurants, delis, or organic places that might be interested.

  1. You have to go beat the streets and knock on doors to create a market.

  2. Advertise for one thing. And you have to give out free samples, a lot of free samples to store purchasers, chefs, deli owners etc etc. They have to try AND like it before they will sell or use it.

Try to get in touch with the nearest agriculture/local university or college. Usually they have departments dedicated to stuff like that and are more than willing to share their knowledge for free. Also make inquiries with the local government. They may have programs dedicated to organic farming or cheese making.
