Reminds me of the opening sequence to the great Brazilian movie "City of God".

Question by Elizabet: I have a question about dog food and human food?
Does a dog eating dog food all their lives make them live longer or shorter compared to them eating human food? Or is it like the same thing?

Becuase dog food has a bunch of chemicals in them.

Like feeding them Chicken you made for the family. And giving them bones from the chicken.
And making them food with rice, carrots and chicken. MY dog will not eat dog food. She likes cat food better, so we have to feed her human food.
NOT THE SMALL ONES PEOPLE THe chicken legs.

  1. I think you already asked this question in a slightly different way.

But, no you should never give a dog cooked chicken or any other type of bone. They can splinter and cause real damage or even kill them.

Other responders posted some excellent dog food brands on your previous question which you should definitely try. They are far better balanced than a diet of chicken, carrots and rice.

You can go to raw food diet, but that’s take a little research and effort. But if you are persistant – your dog will learn to eat dog food.

  2. Do not feed your dog chicken bones. Sometimes, the bone will snap in their throat and make them choke. This has happened to me before. We feed our dog human food, and he’s fine. He’s eight and looks like he’s half that age, so I figure go for it. I don’t think there’s a difference in aging between dog and human food, because like you said, there are a ton of chemicals in dog food.

  3. first* chicken bones not safe for dogs! esp cooked they can splinter and cause many problems…. i wouldn’t feed my dog chicken unless i cooked it for her without any seasonings as they aren’t very good for dogs…. rice carrots and chicken are fine, but have you tried mixing it with dog food?try a high quality food like blue buffalo or another she might like, there are TONS out there and she might not be getting enough nutrtion if she is just getting human food and it can be to fattening and cause other problems, like people told you on your other question…
edit- ANY cooked bones are unsafe they can splinter while they are chewing on them and cause internal problems…. call your vet and ask them if you are still unsure!

  4. This is a great question and you should do your research very carefully! Everyone is going to have their opinion but that does not mean it is the right food for your dog. I just lost my seven year old German Shepherd to cancer and that is when I went searching for the cause. I came across a website on the internet that shocked me into disbelief that I probably had poisoned my dog to death and didn’t even know it. Most dog foods are loaded with hidden poisons and other obscenities I still have a hard time grasping. I am going to give you the website address so you can read this report and learn what is really in commercial dog foods and you can make an educated decision like I did on which dog food to buy! I wish you all the best!
