Question by Loodles: I have a gray cone shaped beehive in my yard I would like to identify?
It is gray and cone shaped, has black bees and it’s in one of my trees. It looks like a little tornado, does anyone know a site I can go to and find information on identifying my beehive? Thanks.

  2. You have yourself a baldface hornets nest it sounds like. I provided a picture of the hornet and its nest. The nests usually look like a large grey football hanging in a tree. If it is baldfaced hornets that you have, you have your self a problem if they are nesting around human activity. They are very aggressive and have been known to chase invaders long distances, stinging multiple times. Their stings are very painful. You may have to call a professional to remove them if needed.
