Question by dummar: I am raising commercial broiler chickens, currently I am using pelletes feed. My question is: Can I switch to?
powder feed ? if so, what are the disadvantages?
Feel free to answer in the comment section below
Hi,
Yes you can switch over to a Broiler grower meal, the advantage is, it takes longer to eat and boredom is reduced.

The mash food tended to cake up in the beak and throat of my chickens. I always use pellets as it is closer to seeds. They will like you to throw them a handful of chicken scratch feed and wild bird seed mix on the ground every day. If not on grass they like grass clippings, fruit and veggie scraps.

Depends on the age of your birds. Most broilers will go off of feed when presented with a new feed for a few days, which in turn can affect your daily gain. Younger birds, less than 14days of age can accept the change much more readily. But again it’s the age (starter, grower, finisher) of the bird and what you’re after exactly.
