first time in about 25 years! It was the most unusual sensation. A burning pain in my arm, tingling nerves, hair on my head raising in tickles. Later, it turned really warm and ached and then itched. …. all very normal, I guess.
Question by James: I am disabled person on a disability pension. I want to grow my own food, and raise rabbits, chickens,?
and bees. there a way I can get a grant or something to buy a small farm (5 acres)? I can’t afford to buy a farm on my pension but I would like to grow my own food to save money and provide for my family.
Feel free to answer in the comment section below
you wont need that much room.. and no very unlikely you can get a government grant.. if you are too disabled to work – how are you going to care for the animals and garden?
plus you never said what country you live in.. maybe some countries offer grants and some dont…
you can keep chickens in some cities – here is a link to get you started

I myself keep 4 free range hens for egg production I sell the extras for $ 1 a dozen.

Unlikely. If there were, just about everyone would sign up for it. No more 40 acres and a mule – but you can move to a semi rural or rural area and raise these these things in a backyard. Container gardening will grow plenty for a family and you can even raise backyard chickens and rabbits in many places.

You can plant vegetables in your garden and to care for them
you can hire a worker to do it for you.

Make life easy for yourself and start with chooks and vegies. The world doesn’t owe you anything so don’t go looking for a handout. Go to your library or Google growing vegies and keeping chooks

I doubt it, unless you can find some way to claim it as a public benefit experiment on how food production and animal husbandry can benefit the handicapped.
You really don’t need a farm to tell you the truth. A yard will work. You can raise a lot of vegies and fruit in a very small place if you plan it right. I think there’s a book out there called “the Square Foot Garden” or Gardening by the Square Foot” that proves with a lot of soil amendments and careful attention to watering and soil quality, you can have an incredible harvest in a plot the size of your bath tub. Give that guy 800 square feet and he claims he can feed you for a year.
As for rabbits and chickens . . .
Rabbits are quiet and you can usually get by with them in a city if you keep the cages clean so the neighbors don’t complain about the smell. You can use those cage cleanings on your garden.
I’d butcher the rabbits inside with the doors closed and the blinds pulled though. Your urban neighbors won’t like that.
Chickens are harder because chickens are noisy. But try your city council. Offer it as a mental health experiment, or an organic living experiment or something. Be creative. Being disabled, you have a lot of clout for getting away with that sort of thing.
