After setting up our Can-O-Worms bin and making them a coconut fiber bed, it’s time to move in our worms, with the help of our 3-year-old.

@himynameiscristina I’d never tried it before this year so I’ll admit it’s been a learning process, but I love that I now understand a bit more about molds and fungi and the difference between fly larvae and springtails. And my daughter will get all of this much younger than I.. and she does seem to like it. Except for the “bad flies”. We’re working on that.
that’s interesting. that’s really eco-friendly and ..idk, sounds cool. it’s just i never heard of vermicomposting. pretty neat and fun for your three year old, too because kids like those kinds of things. cute, by the way.

@himynameiscristina I think it’s a better way of disposing of your waste if it would otherwise go to the landfill (though in cities like Seattle & Barcelona there is curbside composting). For us, we liked the idea of having free compost for the plants on our terrace & it is rich. As for indoors, it just felt like such a nice idea to have a 2nd garbage can that was active, but I think you need to be more experienced to do that. Finally, it’s been interesting learning about how things decompose.
i don’t get .. what’s the point of raising worms? is this a better way to REALLY dispose of your waste/trash? why would you do all that indoors? :p unique, i guess.
