One Response to How to Manage a Worm Bin
I overheard one person say “what is the point of that”. One issue is that
you would be helping to keep garbage from going to the landfill which will
give off methane gas. But for many ” the point” is the same as any compost
pile only this will be even better as it will be full of microbes and will
benefit the soil and in turn benefit your plants and gardens. People can
change from stripping the soil of all nutrients and give back by feeding it
the vermicompost you will have created. Sure you can grow plants by
feeding chemicals but that only feeds the roots and not the soil and
leaches all the good thing in the soil if there is any left away. Im as
guilty as anyone in the past for having using the chemicals but that is
something I and many others like me have switched from and doing our best
to go organic and feed the soil. One great plus for going this route is
the added benefit of taste in the foods you will grow as compared to how
they tasted using chemicals. Just my two-cents.
