To be real honest, I don’t pay much attention to time when baking bread. I can tell by how the house smells if it’s ready, and then I take a quick peek in the oven to confirm it. If my bread has an even browning, it’s usually done. You can determine your own time after make the recipe several time. Note when you put it in and at what temperature, then record when it was done, so that next time you’ll know. So glad you like the bread. That makes my day.
Hey Katz, thanks for the recipe and instructions. Just made this bread and my husband and I love it. Questions, I made batter for 2 but made 1 loaf and a baguette type loaf and rolls with the other portion. It was very soft and I was wanting to know how long should I cook the baguettes and buns for.

Sure. Or if there is any other sweetener you are able to use, you could substitute it…no problem.

I just made this bread today and I can’t stop eating the bread. I made a side pan of this bread with butter and garlic powder and shredded cheddar cheese and I must say it is yummy also. Two Thumbs Up!

Katz – How does the kneading “develop the gluten”. What are we trying to achieve with the kneading? Can you over knead or under knead? Does adding gluten compensate for bad kneading?
I’m so glad you found this useful. I stress this all the time, that you need to know how to make great bread, several varieties, and great soup. If you can do this, you probably won’t ever starve.
Katz, you really read my mind!! LOL I’ve been searching for the last couple of years for a wheat bread recipe that didn’t require all the high gluten flours and equipment. I wish I would have checked your channel first. Thank you so much. We can make vinegar, we can save the wheat germ and bran, but how would one make the high gluten flours and emulsifiers that other recipes call for? This is truly a prepper’s staple wheat bread recipe 🙂

I’m so glad you like this bread…and that you’ve made it your own with the addition of the golden flaxseed.
Thank you for coming out of the shadows to tell me of your success! lol I love to hear stories of people finally being successful at baking bread. It’s a truly satisfying experience. You’ll have to try other bread recipes on my site. There’s one for a delicious, easy French bread and a recently posted biscuit video.
Okay Katz, you have me onto something else. hahaha I have been making white bread, but its time to move on now and your video has done the trick. I am a visual person, so seeing this has helped me to gain courage. Thanks as always.

I’ve never used a bread maker. I have no idea. I would think this would be a lot of dough for the machine to deal with.
