@ironhead41 where I live in Tennessee it is legal to make and distribute as long as you have a tax sticker on each jar, these are sold at the court house with a pamphlet on staying legal
@ironhead41 laws come from the people. not “governments”. governments are groups of people who get together when needed to protect non rights violating citizens from other rights violating citizens. what right does it violate of someone else to make or sell whiskey? none. all government does is create criminals and violence out of, otherwise, non violent people; by forcing them to protect their own property when they threaten to take it or cage them for owning or selling things.
@Trash732 yep thats what i said.adding yeast makes it work in about 3 days not adding yeast takes about seven days to work but makes a better product.now turn you computer off! get out in the real world, and learn something hands on then you will know what you are talking about. have a good day!
@Trash732 well i am from eastern kentucky grew up around moonshine all my life.and i can tell you there are different ways to make it and everybody has their own preferences.i dont know where you heard that the sugar should be minimal if you sprout your corn thats bs.you also dont have to add yeast to make mash it just speeds up the process.but yhe true old timers just use sugar sprouted corn and water thats it.
@Ready2Run1
yes, baker’s yeast would work. brewer’s yeast for making beer is used because it is slower acting and produces less “off” flavors. Probably less important when making moonshine. I’ve only made beer, so I don’t know for sure.
so anyway, this vid is BS. the whole point of corn liquor is that you germinate the corn and then cook it under fire to stop it from growing any more. The malted corn then provides the sugar for the yeast “bacteria” to eat and then make alcohol.
The yeast eats the sugar and poops out alcohol and then you distill it.
The whole purpose of the malted corn is to provide sugar for the yeast.
Thats what makes the booze.
Additional sugar should be minimal
RIP Popcorn
lol im not a avid moonshiner, but i know for a fact you have got to cook the mash before you add the yeast,so the corn is broken down for fermentation, all he is really making or anyone for that fact that isnt cookin there mash first is just making sugar booze,in which that case you dont need corn or any grain for that matter.these guys would make a tasty booze if only they did it the right way

@ChemTrailSkys It doesn’t need to be, when your mash is made you distill it.. It basically boils.
