Kit for sale now- www.berezintechnologies.com Visit Blog at http for details on wind and other stuff I do. Part 2 is now done and covers power generation: www.youtube.com Harness the wind for less than 0. DIY vertical wind turbine of the Savonius style. Notable is that this cost less than 0 in materials so far and that the largest part of this turbine is recycled materials (the PVC drums previously held Balsamic Vinegar from Italy). Also, this turns well in a very light wind. Axle: 3 inch PVC piping from Home Depot Bearings: 5 inch lazy suzan from Lowes. Part 2 will cover power generation and connection to the battery bank.

Great job But we think we got a much better idea about green energy. A simple and terribly efficient new design of a wheel. It can be a water turbine, a water wheel or a wind turbine. Yes, you got it right; one design for three application…. You don’t believe it? Take a look of our first prototype here under “Samory wheel: three in one” and let us know your thoughts.

Home Made Energy known as Xobotano Home Energy (just google it) kept appearing here on a lot of youtube and I thought they were scam. However after my cooworker follow it, and finally save a large amount of his electric bills with it, I’m persuaded. Don’t take my own word for it, search for Xobotano Home Energy on google.

I think its a great video. But it had to eat it’s self within hours or days. With that bearing setup and the lack of some sort of oil injection system to maintain bearing lubrication, plus the fact its a Lazy Susan meant to be spun slowly and in-frequently with just low loading, it would destroy itself.

Did you think about using 4 Neodymium magnets and ditch the ball bearings? Less friction and no sound and you generate more power due to the less friction.

The bearings from the lazy susans would be a bit noisy, I would have to do something a bit more quiet.

looks good but maybe too noisy for close to a house application.

Dumb question, why didn’t you use a pair of “one wire” (self regulated) 12V alternators for the top and bottom bearings?

Build a magnetic bearing for this compressing 2 sets of north to north magnets together. That is all 😉

Yes. Yes they will. These “lazy Susan” devices were never intended to be used outside. Also, they are only intended for intermittent use, as in spinning around a spice rack. Even if they never rusted, they will wear out in short order when subjected to 24/7 use.

not if you get sealed ball bearings. The ones in this video will rust and be almost inoperable within a month.
