  1. Thanks for the wonderful videos Ben! You’ve inspired me to purchase my own wine kit. I really appreciate how organized and professional your videos are =)

  2. Hi Ben, great videos, but need clarification on something. Do you also sell the wine bottles, corks, labels, and bottle corker, or do i have to buy those elsewhere?

  3. If you wanted to, you could drink star san sanitizer. It gets diluted to the point where it is rendered ineffective and does not leave off tastes.

  4. Shouldn’t it be a good practice to rinse the syphon hose, funnel, and other accessories with water after spraying them with sterilant?

I suspect that the sterilizing solution would add an unwanted taste to the wine.

  8. you could also use the concentrate instead of corn sugar to bring up the brix of your wine. it will make a better wine in the end.

  9. Thanks. It is a little bottle. I have watched several videos and read, but I haven’t seen any mention of it. The directions mention putting Raisins in during the 1st phase. During the 2nd phase, it says to take the raisins out of the sediment, put them in cheese cloth and squeeze the juice out of them into the Carboy. My guess is that it is the sweetener as you stated. Still trying to get a hold of the company. Thanks!

  10. Fisher,

If it’s a smaller packet then it’s probably the sweetener packet, which will go in last, right before you bottle. Just add it to taste.

I’m not 100% familiar with those kits.

  14. General rule of thumb: 3-6 months for white and 6-12 months for red. However, I tell people that if it tastes good then drink it. There’s nothing carved in stone when it comes to aging wine.
