How to make a loaf of Bread, using Spelt flour

The ingredients you need are: 450g (1lb) spelt flour 7.5ml (1 1/2 tsp) salt 7g sachet (1 1/2 tsp) fast action dried yeast 30ml (2 tbsp) sunflower oil 5ml (1 tsp) clear honey 400ml (14 floz) lukewarm water Even my children eat this bread – despite it not being white!

  3. You end up with a stone. I’d recommend Matzo for yeast-free bread. They are delicious and salt free as well. They’re delicious with cured meats and chili. You can get them at most any grocery store.

  10. never mind, i worked it out, didnt have a bread tin, sadly the loaf was great, just rather flat, bought a bread tin so will try again, this is the best recipe so far, pity about the bread machine and sore arms, i make my dough with my fingers, prefer it

  17. Thankyou for posting – I’ve tried 3 times by following instructions on the flour packet and trying to use a bread maker – I use the bread maker now just for mixing the dough and allowing it to rise before taking it out and straight into the oven - fingers crossed!!
