We can eat junkfood and drink soda too. Were we meant to eat those things? It’s about how one feels after eating something. It’s about considering where the food you’re eating came from and how it was brought there. It’s about how you perform on the food you’re eating.
This was a great series, how about a howto on Lamb?

People also need to realize that humans and animals absorb the sun for energy as well. vitamin D is absorbed from the sun, which is basically photosynthesis. it is hypocritical to say it is ok to kill plants because they get energy from the sun, and say that it is not ok to kill animals who also get energy from the sun.
we are designed to eat both meat and plants in moderation hence our ability to digest both. if you approach this from an ethical stand point well the plants feel to and are also living, plants even feel emotions and this is backed up by science. so in reality every one is killing a living creature whether your a meat eater or a vegan. we have to understand that this is how life works and thank the 1 supreme creator who has provided so much for us to eat.

I don’t intend to fight with Daniel Vitalis or any other omnivores. Let’s just say I’m disappointed in the man. In response to the killing of plants, one needs to realize the source of all energy on the planet comes from the sun which we can absorb directly in varying degrees. Next, the plants are able to collect this energy through photosynthesis. Eating anything further up the food chain is inferior nutrition. And, yes a proud killer of animals should be willing to show himself for what he is.

vegans and meat eaters do not have to fight, i think we all want ethical and sustainable food. It’s not fair to demonize someone who eats meat. After all, everything is alive in this world, so we can’t choose one diet that won’t hurt other living beings. just because a plant can’t run away, does that make it fair to eat it? what happened to an omnivore diet? love your food, love the Earth.

sounds good to me. see i knew we’d agree on something eventually and I don’t think there was even any name calling the whole time., lol. thanks for the debate, btw Ron Paul ftw.
In the end sustainability is key. Meat or vegan regardless sustainablity is whats it is about. At the end of the day there are way bigger fish to fry than a few diet choices. At times I think there is so much aruging between meat eaters and vegan becuase we have so much in common. Kind of how you fight with your family and take frustrations out on them. if you get what im saying. hopefully in 10-20 years we are still able to debate diet, because there is friction in the air

Fair enough, but I don’t have any problem with a small meat eating tribe in africa. I’m rather, just arguing that a likewise sustainable vegan version of that, is possible. Also, said small meat eating tribe is quite the minority. Many meat eating tribes in africa became pastoralists and pastoralism is known to have caused much of africa’s desertification. Obviously agriculture was to blame as well but these are both old paradigms, there are new ways.
no i am not ignoring that! that is reasonable to me. But not many do that. And how many american vegans are less desctructive to mother earth and her animals than a remote meat eating tribe in africa… Lets not sum that up to the vegetarian myth logic quite yet lol. I am not saying that i am less destructive either. But this kind of points out that your probelm might be with corporation and industrialization and less with diet… when you really think about it

This is the Vegetarian Myth Logic: traditional meat eaters cause less harm to the environment because they don’t support destructive mono crop farming practices to grow soy, wheat etc. Ok, but what about a vegan who eats from a small permaculture garden, or a food forest? Convenient how the theory ignores that possibility.
And regarding your ad hominem attack on freelee, let me ask: are you 100 percent happy with all your decisions in the past, or are there some things you feel you did before becoming more aware? Should you be attacked and ridiculed for the things you did in your past when you were still a kid?
First off i am ripped so ill ask myself. i think that your diet causes more animal death than a tribe that eats meat in africa FACT. And absolutely if our taxes and purchases were not going to the government we would be in a much less industrial setting where you would hunt and be hunted. All indeginious people in the tropics ate meat…

but you would ask a fat Vitalis, Cordain, Taubes and Fallon? All of whom are now fat, but say meat makes you fit. Wow. 2. Do you think anti-meat means pro-GMO? 3) We’d be in in the wild if not for corrupt governments? So the adoption of Agric had nothing to do with it? Hunting became necessary when we left the tropics where fruit/veg was avail year round! Becoming an opportunistic omnivore is a testament to our ability to adapt, not proof we need meat.
we ate neggies and fruit in the past….. so tell me how that is different? meat in the past were we insane incest and cannibals, fruits in the past, lets eat GM exclusively… yes wake up to the fact that if it was not for currupt govrenmetns we would be living in the wild. We would hunt and we would also get hunted. also freelea would nto have breast implants…im not going to ask a fat anthropologist about a diet.

just because we did something in the past doesn’t mean we should do it now. should we practice insest and cannibalism too? This is called the “appeal to tradition” fallacy. rejecting empirical evidence in favor of speculation about the past. you hope i “wake up” to killing animals when i have no need for it and i’m already healthy. Btw, if you want to eat a certain way, go for it. Ask an anthropologist if we have a paleo diet in our genes. 100% will say that’s ridiculous
Hmmm we should eat meat becuase all humans have since the beginning of our species all around the world, theres little hint. Also reread your post about using a knife, thinking thats insane… but the commerical jet that flies in your GM fruit is cool lol. Well when plants become hybris in nautre is a little different than in a lab by big food corps. Are they ok to eat sure, but to make a banana a staple meal lol have fun with that. You will wake up in time…hopefully

1) chimps eating termites mean we should eat meat? That’s a logical stretch. 2) there’s no such thing as a GM banana. there are Hybrid bananas, but all plants are hybrids, so that is an very poor argument against consuming something. You’d know that if you got your info from science rather than paleo gurus. 3) bananas reproduce themselves without seeds, are very nutritious and are a staple food for athletes the world over. Let that “sink in.”
