Line the sides with poly sheeting to prevent rot and leave the bottom open to the landscape sheet for moisture escape-the last one went for 11 years using cheap lumber.
Just use ordinary doug fir 2×10 0r 12. Don’t stress on the rotting they will last for years like that and are so cheap you just replace them.when they rot
Yes, you would have to treat the wood with stains and sealers, which can be found on Lowes.com. However, we suggest you always use treated wood in exterior installations. Thanks for watching our videos! -Lowe’s
Some Lowe’s has cedar, but mostly on the west coast. The Lowe’s in Anchorage, AK has a huge selection of cedar 2X material, but now that I live in NH, I can’t find cedar to save my life
Does anyone know how this can be modified or does anyone have any suggested changes for how this can be built on a wooden deck? In our townhouse, we do not own any lawn property, but have a sizable deck. This design seems fairly easy and it looks great! What could I use to cover the bottom of one of these beds before putting soil in?
I love this! My husband was never taught many handy skills so he has no confidence in himself. I was taught, but now I am disabled and it’s hard to explain to him without us both getting frustrated. This guy is GREAT! He makes it perfectly clear and easy, thanks!

Don’t waste your $ on expensive wood as they all rot eventually. Just buy cheap const. grade fir . It will last for years – as well

If you do not use treated lumber, as mentioned, for food and herb gardens, what type of wood would I use?

On my channel I just built an elevated version of this. No bending to tend the garden. Please check it out in my channel.

For untreated wood, do we need to varnish or use some paint for the wood to last longer?
Doesn’t wood get rotten with water does it?

i’ve never seen 2×4 or 4×4 cedar lumber sold at Lowe’s, so I’m not sure you could make this project with the materials you can get there.
