Keyhole raised beds are great space savers in a small garden. This bed was
built over two old 4 x 8 beds and converted half of the former walking path
into gardening space.

This is awesome thanks for sharing! I haven’t gotten started yet with my
beds would you say you prefer the key hole bed over the standard one? I’m
just thinking of doing all key holes or should I mix it up! Thanks for all
of your awesome videos I’ve learned so much!

My neighbor brought me a pickup truck full of 2×6’s that somebody was
discarding. I am doing a happy dance because I can now build some
beautiful raised beds. Woot! As always, thanks for the video.
I love those key hole beds ! I guess I must count myself lucky as my yard
angles fairly aggressively to the south. I must admit this feature drove me
insane when our builder did it but now I think it was a good thing !

Excellent to see this design.I actually built one back in the late 80’s
using “railway sleepers”.Aesthetically pleasing, less construction with
beautiful redwood from a disused country railway line.Purchased from the
local Garden Centre at a reasonable price.Although times have changed
somewhat with so many keen gardeners out there. But last’s forever.
Hi Patrick. Question on the raised bed mix. What do you use for the main
mix I know you amend it with coffee grounds and leaves. Are your beds on
top if gopher netting or do the roots grow all the way to the native soil
underneath the cardboard once it decomposes. Thank you.

I LOVE keyhole beds. They are truly beautiful. Your garden is really coming
along, and believe me, it is doing much better than anyone’s I know. Hope I
can catch up, here in Michigan, we are about 4 weeks behind you due to the
insulation from the lakes.

something extra to the garden. Thanks for sharing your build. I may need to
make another one soon.

I like it. I’ve seen a lot of the keyhole beds and didn’t really care for
them, this one is very roomy and not three foot tall so that you’d need a
step stool to reach things.

Those keyhole beds are a fantastic design. If I decide to do more dirt,
that should be my design. Thanks for the video!
