Ducks and Chickens can be raised together. Although if the ducks are male…some issues may eventually ensue.
Question by jarenguy: How much land do you need to raise ducks?

At least an acre. You have to build a night pen, nothing very fance, but an area that predators (raccoons, foxes, possums) can’t get into and a covered area to escape hawks.
You don’t have to have a pond, but they must swim. We just get pastic kidde pools and they are content.

A couple of acres are fine. If you dont have a pond a Kiddy pool works great.
ask me anything I own ducks and can help with otherQs you have

It depends how many you want to raise. I have 16 in a 20X25′ pen…they’ll be split off when they get mature. I have 8 anconas and 8 Welsh Harlequin – and a 20X25′ pen is big enough. They do not need a pond. I use a kiddie pool but they’ll also happily play in a sprinkler too turned on for a little bit a few times per week. They *do* need drinking water they can get their bill down into.
You can artificially hatch them by collecting the fertile eggs.
DO use good fences and in most areas get netting to go over the top. Even in a small town there are two owls in the trees that would love to dine on prime duckling…the netting over the top isn’t real visible but is enough to keep them out.
