Question by loveydovey260: How is it possible to live a healthy life in such an unhealthy society?
They have found ways to contaminate or negatively alter anything worth eating. They sprayed the fruits and vegetables to death, they injected or made carnivores out of vegetarian animals, many people are alergic to milk and they have bleached the breads. I go to the store and the shelves are filled with salt, oil and sugar loaded crap with zero nutritional value. They claim to have dietary benefits, but if you look at the meal replacers, the first ingredients are sugar, corn syrup and water. It was so much easier to find good food in Japan, but don’t be fooled…they have become fast food happy, too. Without moving out to a farm and making all your foods from scratch, is there a way to live healthy in a unhealthy society?
I don’t know what they eat in the rural outskirts of Tanzania, gudrun077, but the difference between them and us, probably, is that they don’t have a choice. We have a choice and we keep on choosing the road that leads to unhealthiness only for the short term pleasure. Since industry cares more about money than the consumer, is it possible to live healthy and cheap…or is that an oxymoron?
What do you think? Answer below!
Yeah…start eating other people.

Unhealthy society? How about living in rural outskirts of Tanzania? Please appreciate what you have and do not underestimate the value of what surrounds you. Appreciate small things and try to pick and choose what is best for you (at least you have that luxury of having options to choose from). You can go to Whole Foods or Safeway..it’s really up to you to choose the lifestyle of choice. Much more possibilities to live healthy in an “unhealthy” society than willing choose to live unhealthy in a “healthy” society…but again how we define healthy/unhealthy depends on our own experiences and perceptions.

It is hard but possible. Buy organic food but beware that if it has been shipped from another country it would probably have been sprayed when it comes in to the country. Go to farmers markets and try growing your own veg too. Goats milk is better for those who are intolerant to cows milk. Animals only drink milk when they are young and then they are weened off of it. We only have one stomach unlike cows which is why we are often unable to digest it properly. Goats have one stomach so this is why it is easier to digest. This obviously applies to goats cheese too. Try baking bread and freezing it. Japan has a very low rate of cancer due to the eating habits of those who live there, this unfortunately will grow with fast food society. Exercise is really important to, a lot of people prefer to forget this important factor but walking, cycling and not using a car all of the time can help.
