How do you make a raised bed for gardening?

This is one of two raised beds I am using to grow vegetables this year. As you can see I have sectioned the bed off into square foot sections for use in the square foot gardening method of growing.
Along the backside of the bed there is a vertical trellis made up of galvanized piping and nylon netting.
Question by Gran Gran: How do you make a raised bed for gardening?
My granddaughter want to make a garden in a boxed area. What is the best method for making a raised garden bed?

Raised garden beds (or raised bed gardens) are a great way to grow flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. It has a host of advantages, and is aesthetically pleasing. Some of the prettiest and best kept gardens, are grown in raised beds. There is something about raised beds that make gardeners more conscious about the appearance of the garden. And, the benefits are many.
Making a raised garden bed frame is relatively easy. All you need is a hammer, saw, wood and some nails. If you want an even easier set-up, you can buy long lasting, heavy duty plastic raised beds, that are both quick to set-up, and strikingly attractive.

Use 4-2X6 pressure treated boards for each bed. get 8 foot boards and cut them exactly in half. If you don’t have room for a 4×4 area then cut them any length you want. Nail them together to form a square that you can fill in with dirt. Make sure the ground you place them on is level, set them down and fil them with good dirt.
Now just plant your stuff and watch it grow!

I would never suggest using pressure treated wood for a raised garden that is intended to grow vocables.
I have several raised beds that I use for vegetables that I built out of landscaping blocks, normally used in retaining walls. My garden is part of our lawn’s landscape and I have included a pergola w/a swing. A very nice place to enjoy an afternoon.
You and your grandaughter will love this experince together.
