Question by Reid: How do you create a beehive hairdo?
I can’t seem to figure out how to put the height into my hair
and they don’t sell hair donuts here either. Is there any other way?

  1. You can tease your hair a lot and use a lot of hair spray. and if you have bump its you can try to use those.

  2. Lol..hair donuts. Yes a lot of teasing, arm strength, and patience. and lots and lots of bobby pins. Look at a lot of pictures and videos of people creating beehives which will help you see how it should look when you’ve seen multiple people do it. And then get to practicing 🙂

Damn I didn’t know there were so many bad tutorials on youtube…I found one that’s alright.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw5nfprvCE4

But you should look at different videos and pictures and practice until you get the look you want.

Jeez, I love hair, especially 20s flapper heads and 40s 50s victory rolls.

oh and if you cant find enough great videos with “beehive” try looking up pshychobilly / zombie hair.

  3. For the real high 60s beehive, Tease your ENTIRE head, Then starting from the side of your neck, Brush it smooth and stop at one section and apply LOTS of hairspray. Then keep doing the same thing, Stopping and applying hairspray…and it’ll stay without any sort of bobby pin…Though, If one side has a tendacy to slide, or you want to fix it, Use a bobby pin…But if you use enough hairspray, You shouldn’t even have to use Bobby Pins.
