Question by Alexa K: How do I make a baby goat like me?
One of my goats just had a baby. A really sweet, adorable thing we named Easter. My mom and I go in to hold her and pet her every time chance we get so that she becomes used to humans, but for some reason this goat does not seem to like me as much as she does my mother. Is there anything special I can do to make her more comfortable/like me more?
Give your answer to this question below!

Goats are sometimes like dogs. Some of them take a shine (liking) to one person, and like that person above all others.
Spend time with her when your Mom is not around. Especially when the baby goat is sleepy. Take a book with you. Allow the baby goat to fall asleep in your lap. I don’t know why but I’ve found after baby animals (especially goats, puppies and kittens) fall asleep, and wake up with you a few times they become quiet fond of that person. I think it’s because they begin to view the human as a mother figure who keeps them safe when they sleep.
Make sure you allow the baby goat to nurse when it wants too, and not to try and force it to be held if it wants to run and romp.
Also if you are the main person who feeds the goats, no matter what the baby goat is going to come to like you best of all humans.
Don’t forget the baby goat is also learning from its mother. Does the doe prefer your Mom to you? The baby goat is going to follow its mothers lead right now. When it gets a little older it will be more sure of having little goat adventures by itself.
Have fun with the baby goat. They are very cute.
