Bee keeping is relatively inexpensive., especially when you consider that once the hive is established you sit back and reap the rewards. In the past we’ve kept bees but because of some bee disease that swept through the area we were all forced to burn the hives. We put up a hive again this year. We have two supers on it and a third one will be going up soon. The hive has been here about 2 weeks and the bees are working like crazy. Already we have honey in the hive. I predict a great year! Get going now if you’re going to. The hive should be set when the trees and flowers begin to blossom.
If I were to do it, I’d wait until the problem of the missing bees is solved. Bees are the cheapest part of the investment, but if they go, the money that you spent on the gear is, too.
