Question by nojoconnections: How can I purchsae and raise goats?
I want to purchase and raise a goat to clean the yard with the high glass (this is predominately associated with residing in a rural communty. The goat will not necessarily be pet, but keep weeds and glass out of the yard.
Here’ irony here: My uncle walked out on his wife and children, without any support, to date a woman who has a beard like a goat. Her name is Lynette so that’s what I am going to call my goat. 🙂
Thank you in advance.

Make sure this is really what you want. Do more research on goats, they can be a real pain. You have the entire internet at your disposal for gathering information, USE IT! Aside from that finding goats is pretty easy, you can just google the term ‘goat breeders’ and you will find pages upon pages of listings on different sites of where to buy a goat. Best of luck!

Check the Shipsawana live stock auction.
There not hard to raise as long as they have fresh water and grass, my grandparents have three goats.

There are many places to get goats. You’ll want at least two! They need companionship and will be less trouble if you get at least two.
One thing that some people do is buy dairy goat buck kids as soon as they are weaned and them sell them for meat in the fall. Be advised that for many of the people that you’ll find who advertise on the internet consider their goats to be pets and will not sell them as butcher animals. Another point is the fact that goats can worm their way into your heart and you won’t want to get rid of them!
Raising goats is easier if you have a mentor, so buy from someone who will help answer your questions. I would never buy from an auction because there is usually a good reason that a goat would end up there. Usually that’s a health reason!
