Question by pinkluckyangel: How can I change my house deeds?
I want to have chickenns in my back garden, but in my house deeds it says no livestock, but I have heard that you can have this taken out, as it is now out dated.

Has anyone one done this, and how much did It cost?

I know I will need to go see a solicitor, but I don’t want to waste my time going if he can’t do any thing

  3. First check with the council that you are permitted to keep chickens – ie there are no by-laws to prevent this. If not, go ahead. My son has just done this in an urban area. The council told him it was OK, unless they received complaints from neighbours.

Do NOT have a cockerel – you will definitely get complaints, and possibly, legal action… especially at this time of year, when he starts crowing at 4 am.
