Honey Harvest w/ Bee Escape Beekeeping 101
GardenFork.TV Watch us harvest honey using a bee escape to remove the honeybees from the honey super. There are several ways to get the bees out of a honey super to harvest the honey, i think this way is the best, though it does take a day or two for all the bees to leave the honey super through the bee escape. very cool man. wish I knew about these a few years ago when we had our first couple hives. now it would just take too much time and effort to do that too all my hives and it would hult the honey production on other uncapped supers that are layered. but with a single super, this would be a perfect non-toxic way to clear the super

Question what keeps the bees from traveling straight up the center hole from below?

our bees are great, thank for asking, they have some honey in the hive already, with the early spring we’ve had here. thanks for watching, eric.

i would just leave the honey for the bees so they comsume it in winter you now

were do you get a queen bee because i was looking to do this to help the bees because bees are endangered were i live and i was hoping this will help and it will be a + for my garden and the honey.

i’ve found it best to leave the escape on for longer than 24 hours, but it still works pretty good at 24 hours. thx, eric – GardenFork

Nice video. I’ve used the exact same double triangle set up for 2 years now (2nd year beekeeper – 10 hives) and am still amazed it works. We wanted our hives to be 100% chemical free (by us) so fume boards were out and blowers are just rude — LOL
