6 Responses to Home Canning: All about Pectins for making Jams
Kari, You have great tutorials. Must try making your grape jelly.
– also if you want to learn how to make your own fruit pectin using green apples, visit my blog (link in my YouTube profile or google Moo Said the Mama)
– Not always! Some fruits, like grapes and apples, are naturally high in fruit pectin and you can easily make jams and jellies from these fruits without added pectin. UGA extension has some recipes to make other fruit jams and jellies without pectin as well. google UGA and making jam without pectin to find their site
So, are powdered and liquid pectin ever interchangable? Also, I have had the best luck pouring in the pectin all at once, quickly.. I even once read that is the way to do it, is that true? Thanks!!
