  2. While many types of fish can thrive in a close system some will need
special care and some are very easy to maintain.

  11. I’m thinking you’re wrong. The nutrients gained from the aquarium water
    should sustain the plants indefinitely.

  12. @Kudaimo I’ve tried to make my own bell siphon with the least cost…I used
the upper part of a mineral water bottle which is bell-shaped..and the
first try was a success. It was easy, as long as we understand the concept
of water pressure and auto siphon..

  15. I believe it. Its a bit of a trick tweaking the system so it works and
grows constantly but once the bacteria is setup, pH is good, and the fish
are happy it is pretty much self sufficient minus feeding the fish and
    occasional pump cleaning.

  16. What fish will depend on what you want to get out of it, if you want a fish
you can eat I would recommend the hardy Tilapia, I use Yellow Perch in my
system and they are fairly sturdy fish, you can check out my other videos
where I talk about how I keep them. If you just want fish for the plants
and are not concerned with eating them simple goldfish work great, there is
two Black Moor in mine and they are very hardy. A swarm of Minnows works
too and you can use them for fish bait if you fish.

  18. I have a 55 gallon tank that is perfect for this. Have a big sucker fish in
it. 6-8 clones would work well with rock or would coco balls work as well.
Also can rockwool be used and is that a filter type situation as there is
    no real filtration happening?

  19. Hi… Thanks for the antimation AND the great suggestions.. I have a 2500
gallon fiberglass tank that I am not using here at the Garden Center. I
would like to cut the top off and use for the garden medium. Any ideas on
the design? I have looked at many designs on the web and, must admit, a
little confused. We are located in zone 7b (North Carolina) and I have room
in our main greenhouse to place the tank. Little confused on how a auto
    siphoning works.. Thanks so much..

  20. Do you have step by step instructions on how to build? I’ve seen some that
are so complicated and this one looks doable for me and doesn’t take up so
    much space.

on building one. I’m actually probably going to be adding another growbed
in the coming weeks so i might make a video on how i do that.

  22. All good, it’s easy to assume it’s Hydroton. I made it for a class project
so only about a hour or so of time spent on the animation, would of
designed it better had I known I would put it on the internet.

  25. This bacteria is not for sale xD It is a naturally bacteria emerging by
moved water (like the “pool” of Mr. Heffner 😉 who keeps the water clear.
This is a aquaristic basic knowledge (natural bacterias by moved water ;-).
