BARBECUE IN THE GARDEN barbecuegarden.blogspot.com NOTTINGHAM NH. grow tomatoes in 5 gallon buckets 5 20 DAY UPDATE MY method BARBECUE IN THE GARDEN COOKING and GARDENING FOR HEALTHY EATING, LIVING, NUTRITION, DIET AND THE EXERCISE BENEFITS THAT COME WITH low cost home grown vegetables
Just an FYI on were to get buckets. Go to your lo al grocery store with a bakery. They typically get icing in 5 gallon buckets and usually throw them away. Icing is very oily so some cheap soap from the dollar store will cut it.

Great idea about the shock prevention. I planted my tomato plants in the buckets like this about a month ago and today they are about 3 ft. tall. I wonder if I had used your method would they be further along now. Have you made a comparison video of one that is planted with and without doing the treatment to the roots before planting? I have some seedlings that a ready to go in a bucket in about a week or so. I will definitely try this out. Thanks!

perhaps a local food service can get you some 5 gallon buckets to get your tomato garden started for this year planting season

you might want to get all of them up off the deck, you are going to have rings all over it. My suggestion is discarded pallets. You can cut them in half and use them as shelves. I”m starting a container garden this year. Any ideas on places to get free containers?

I make tomato sauce and freeze it. plus i make fresh salsa out of the pablano and jalapeño peppers. I am growing zucchini in 5 gallon buckets this year, works great. Nothing like a HOME GROWN tomato BLT. enjoy my other gardening videos

i had that growing anyways, because i used the railing to support the tomatoes and peppers while they were growing, when the tomatoes and peppers were big enough, i started wrapping them around the railing until it was a tomato hedge.

REALLY, MY REFRIGERATOR IS FULL OF TOMATOES GROWN IN 5 GALLON BUCKETS. NOT TO MENTION CUCUMBERS, PEPPERS, SQUASH AND ZUCCHINI, ALL GROWING IN BUCKETS. I have even growing in my garden now some jalapeños and yellow pear tomatoes make great salads, green vegetables. GROWING MANY PLANTS ENSURE A GOOD HARVEST, PLUS I CAN CONTROL THE SOIL BETTER IN CONTAINERS AND BUCKETS . PAILS. MI ROOTS GROW DOWN INTO THE MEDIUMS TOWARDS THE SELF WATER 5 gallon BUCKET CHECK OUT MY OTHER VIDS

i found out buckets are no good because they restrict the roots from growing outwards which reduces the optimal potential of the plants yields.

actually this was last season buddy. i had so many ripe tomatoes i had to give them away, I had only so much time for video, but plenty tomatoes, they look great in the buckets , don’t they ? 1 >2 plants per 5 gallon bucket is just right for the garden.
