Chickens are easy to raise and multipurpose. Also great for alerting you to predators on your property!

Piglets are less apt to have diseases if you buy them from a farm with healthy stock and when you go to the farm you can see how they have been kept and have a better idea of what if any problems your new livestock is likely to have. Really good tips for people that have never gone before LaMar.

The whole family likes to watch your videos. We love your subjects and formats. This is better than anything that we watched on a TV “how to series”. Thanks.

Pigs are going for a cheap price right now. Cattle on the other hand is at an all time high price wise. And they will keep going up in price throughout this year.
Also, I suggest folks to start learning to make their own bread from flour because wheat prices will soar this year because Oklahoma and Texas will only yield at most MAYBE 7% of their annual avg. output because of the drought in both states. States in the midwest may miss out on a harvest due to flooding in some areas. Same thing

with corn. Food prices in general will soar this year. So going to an auction to buy animals for consumption purposes is a wise investment versus going to the grocery store. Another good idea I have thought about once I get on my own is to have your own dairy cow or two rather than having to buy milk outright from the grocery store. If you get a chance, find online sites to use ways to pasteurize milk for dairy purposes.

I pick them up for about $35 from a private sale. A little more at auction.

Property taxes are about $170. Propane about $200 a year and I have a cell phone and wifi. Those are my only real expenses.
