so in the first season, we should literally cut of everything growing off
of the trunk including the leaves? The pic made it look like you just keep
it to a twig the first year but leaves are where photosynthesis takes
place. It seems bizarre.
Is it ever too late to do this ? I never ever pruned my grape plants and
I’m into my 3rd season.Late year was a bust. All the grapes developed mold
on them before they got completely ripe.We had a cool ,rainy spring. I’m
not sure what you are explaining. I have budds already.I live in S.E.-Mid

Hi I’ve been feeling down lately, So I planted a small green grape plant.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can keep it healthy and strong please
privage message me 🙂
So, how do you trim the grape vines during growth? My grape vine is several
years old, well established. But I hadn’t cut it correctly. My main stem
seperates at the bottom where I had cut the left side once (yikes!) so the
right main stem is divided again at a higher level. Now I’m wondering, are
there “suckers” that need to be trimmed or do I just leave it now and prune
it correctly next winter?
I have a grapevine that was planted by a bird. I thought it would die
because it was in my shaded flower bed. Now it’s beautiful, about 18 – 24
inches on the longest stem. The problem is it’s at the base of an oak tree
and it’s hanging full of grapes. It has five beautiful health clusters
hanging and I know that I should cut them and keep the plant from producing
but I wanted your advice on how to go from here, Help, Ann
I planted new vines in the early spring that are already producing grapes.
Should I get rid of the fruit the first year so the rut system can mature
quicker?
i have to say that your video on how to prune grape vine is more
educational than dave wilson nursery.or any other grape pruning video.
thanks yolanda.
