Just wondering with the hooch, i thought being underground was for temperature and to keep it dark. Different bacteria thrive in different light conditions. cheers
Use a blow off tube when ya do that. Over pitching yeast isn’t gonna increase you abv. It’s all in the sugar ya add. If ya want more alcohol just add more sugar. Use corn sugar to get a better taste as well. Hole this helps. Wish I could get some of these grapes. Cheers
My goodness…he sounds like you when he said “goodness gracious…..” and people in our country family! Did he say “hooch”? Have you ever had some hooch before? I think it must be something with alcohol in it? Well, anyway he makes me laugh with his accent and his country sayings! Isn’t he good and entertaining?
I used 1 1/2 packets. About .. about… about.. way too much sugar and prob. 4 lbs. at least of blackberries. I wish you would have done a video of the blackberry. Or, maybe there’s no diff. I don’t know. I don’t drink… haven’t in over 25 yrs. prob. I just wanted to do it. I had a condom explode last night so my basement smells like a cobbler! ha
Me either 🙂
For the first time, I used 2 packets of yeast in the blackberry . It DOES seem to have a kick. A guy that is a wine freak tasted it and said to give it a few months in the bottles and it should be VERY good.
Heck, I may even take a nip or 2 myself 🙂
Thanks for gettin back to me. I whipped it up yesterday. I hope it turns out good. I don’t drink a drop I just like learnin how to do it. I’ll just give it away. I added more sugar to it than you show just because it’s blackberry. I absolutely have no idea what I’m doin. ha
On most of my winemaking I don’t cook the fruit, but I DID with the berries. I think it turned out very good… though I am NOT much of a wine drinker. Folks I know that DO drink a variety of wine said it was pretty good.
Good luck…
ive made mead and just finished my 2nd batch of partial grain beer.cant wait to try. my first was an English bitter, tasted better that some primo store bought.
