Hey, Ray, nice new intro – I’d let it go a few seconds longer.
Five feet is quite wide, and difficult to lean over to pull weeds or
harvest. I don’t make raised beds wider than four feet so that I can
always reach the middle from either side, without leaning way out or
stepping into the bed itself. Also, I staple hardware cloth to the frame,
then flip it, to keep gophers and moles out. I line the inside of the wood
with plastic to get a couple extra years out of the wood, too.
