  1. I tried it without using an air stone and it worked just fine – so why buy what I don’t need? I think it depends on the pump’s output – there are pumps that have multiple outlets. I know ecogrow.com sells an eight pack with an eight outlet pump.

  5. Thanks for the comment – glad you love the video! I get my net baskets online from Eco Enterprises (ecogrow.com). Seems like they should be available in your area as well – good luck!

  9. No air-stone. Air is pumped through the tube. Check out the “Amazing RootSpa” video on my channel. Good luck – so far these bubble buckets work great!

  10. Hello and thank you for the video. Do you use an air-stone inside the bucket? Or is the aid supply just out of the 1/2″ elbow?

    Getting ready to build one!

    Thanks!

  11. I doubt if there would be much difference in the results between either method. I have gotten excellent results with tomatoes growing in hydro and soil. I like growing hydroponically because you have more control of plant growth. I believe that the type of fertilizer used and controlling the growing environment are the main things to look at for optimal growth.

  14. Drain once a month through drain tube. Refill with tap water through the grow medium and drain again. This rinses out the grow medium. Replace with new nutrient solution. You can use expended nutrient solution on outside plants. No need to clean inside of bucket till after harvest. Grow for it! Thanks for the comment.

  15. I change my nutrient solution about once a month – seems to work ok. But, in between changes, I just add water through the growing medium and add nutrient through the tube – that has worked great so far and I have been doing it for a couple of years now.

  21. Probably not enough light - especially for the blossoming stage. Need High Intensity Discharge (HPS) or lots of T-5 lights.

  22. probably around 3 oz maybe less, i always say a oz is the least per plant, and its better to expect less and get more then to expect more and get less.

  24. No. A pH of 6.3 is considered optimal for most plants to receive the proper balance of nutrients whether in a bucket system or in the ground. I usually control pH for acid loving plants between 5.5 and 6.5
