Give your answer to this question below!
I have a few for sale in Northern Arkansas. Depending a lot on where you live, babies on the bottle, non-registered, can go for as little as $ 8.50 at a livestock auction that sells them, and in the 1000’s for registered stock. To get a tame baby that’s weaned (I’d recommend doing this, it’s cheaper in the long run!), you’ll spend around $ 50.00 average. Sometimes, people have free ones that they no longer need. Research your breeds, whether or not they have horns, and make sure you have a large pen, about 6 feet high to keep it in. Small goats can get though cattle panels and stuff, so they’ll have to be lined with something like 2X4 wire, or get a goat big enough it can’t go through. I also recommend having a portable pen that can be moved around your property, therefore, it serves 2 purposes, getting rid of weeds and vines, and the goat gets better nutrition from wild stuff than storebought grain. Also, check the zoning where you live, because many subdivisions and towns won’t allow them.
Your local feed store will probably know a reputable person to get some from. Also, they usually have a bulletin board advertising them.
Petting zoos often have some that are going to be too big for the zoo, and not big enough to breed yet. Dairy farms keep 95% of their females, and are happy to sell their bottle babies. Good luck!
