Question by mamatucker: Does anyone have a simple for chicken papakish?
I have made it. It is sometimes called chicken paprika. I have taken two or three and made one but I would like a simple one.

  2. I really do not know what you mean: “I have taken two or three and made one…” but here is how my bf makes a simple chicken paprikash:

First of all he starts with FROZEN chicken pieces, 3 for each adult and 2 for my child. He puts them under the broiler, turning them until they are SLIGHTLY browned all around. Meanwhile he makes about 1/3 of a medium potful of basic mushroom cream sauce. He adds a half small onion and some strips of red sweet pepper that have been mashed by a blender or food processor. Into this he puts the browned (still mostly frozen) chicken pieces plus the rendered fat and juices. He stirs so the chicken pieces are covered. He adds a heaping tablespoon of paprika and a teaspoon of prepared mustard. He then covers and cooks over medium heat (the sauce steaming and just beginning to bubble but not boiling, stirring occasionally to avoid any sticking to the bottom of the pot. A few minutes before serving he adds a couple of large globs of sour cream and stirs again.

We enjoy with a good Hungarian furmint wine.

Yummy but fattening (I only let him make it 3 or 4 times a year!)
