You talk about hunting but do not explore your own food source.

  7. Yes. That’s why I don’t eat meat. Not only do they have miserable lives, they die horribly.

My husband used to argue with me that “at least the turkeys got to live” until he saw a documentary about them. Now he says they’d be better off never living at all. I agree.

ETA: I hope some of you realize that, if you look at animals as soulless creatures who exist only as your next meal, you are going straight to Hell.

  14. So. I happen to think there is a beneficial effect to predator animals by hearing and seeing the suffering of other people and animals. Because of this I took a page from the movie “fight club” and started to go to support groups for any and every thing.

  17. i almost ran over a big wild turkey today. which i thought was timely. i watched the history channel special on turkey farms, the farm they used didn’t look too horrible. they were then sent to a seperate slaughterhouse. The show did gloss over the actual killing of them. It even used a line “and the turkeys are killed in a ‘humane’ way,” however i guess what they did to them was not ‘humane’ enough to show on tv.

there are free range and organic meats available in any supermarket today. however “free range” often means they’re let out for 5 minutes a week so they can meet legal criteria for false advertising. you see you have to false advertise in the proper way. you can’t just lie about everything you need a grain of truth to make propaganda work otherwise it’s just obvious.

  20. Turkeys are raised on welfare. They don’t work, they are totally subsidized by their government. They are over fed and generally fat. They get the greatest of healthcare till there time is near. There living conditions are a little crowded with their big families. Unfortunately they don’t get a lot of exercise. They seem to gobble or grumble alot, but add nothing to their owners delight. They are totally dependent on their owner, and do nothing to try to break away.
