Question by Bonnie 🙂: Do you have to keep breeding a dairy goat…….?
1. Do you have to keep breeding a dairy goat to have it produce milk, or can you just own 2 does and have them produce milk?

2. Do you have good luck with Nubians?

  2. They have to be bred before they will produce milk, and eventually they will dry up even if you milk them twice a day every day. Once they dry up, they will not have milk until they kid again. Most people keep 2 or 3 does and rotate their breeding schedules so that they always have at least 1 in milk.

Nubians are a very good dairy breed, known for producing large quantities of great tasting milk.
