Question by Lauren J: do ducks breed with their duck sibling also what do i do with ducks in the winter?
me and my dad are thinking about raising ducks again but we dont know what to do with them in the winter time we never made it that far before and this is just a question cuz we dont wanna end up with unwanted eggs but if a duck hatches with other ducks will it breed with those duck even if they r siblings i dont think they do but im not sure if u can answer this thanks

  1. Ducks will breed with their siblings. If you are planning to raise them for eggs or meat you should get the males from one source and the females from another source. They are winter cold hardy outdoors and will like a large dog house with straw bedding.

  2. The ducks will breed with their siblings. I don’t think that really matters if you are planning on eating the eggs but it might be a problem if you want to hatch out the eggs.
    Ducks are good in the cold weather. As long as they have a shelter and water that isn’t frozen they will do fine. Ours love running around in the snow!
