In case you wonder about the raised duck egg with the white spots on the yolk: The fried egg rests on three slices of fried five-grain bread and I poured hot bacon fat over it. I like it that way.
Question by Vegan Ninja: Do domesticated ducks make exceptional pets if you raise them from ducklings?
So, if I raised the duck from an duckling, handling it daily, do you think it would become a friendly pet? Also, does their poo smell?

They make great pets, but I would keep it outdoors. I’m not sure about potty training them. Ducks will bond to you and follow you everywhere, quaking behind you, and let you pick them up if they have grown up being used to it. Thier poop is poop, it has an odor, but not as strong as a dog or cat.
I think you have to raise 2 together at least while they are young. it keeps them warm. The hatchlings that you get are only a day or two old, and you have to keep them in a container with a heat light. Look up how to raise them for more info. they are pretty delicate at first.

Yes, they make a wonderful pet and, Yes, the poo is stinky. Allow them eat food from your hand and give them green veggie scraps and grass clippings. I would keep them in a dog house in a secure fence. Cover the dog house floor with straw or hay.
