Question by doggyhog: Do Chickens and Turkeys Get Along?
I’m probly going to get some Royal Palm Turkeys to raise for meat and some chickens as layers. Do chickens get along w\ turkeys? best answer gets 10 points!

  1. If you let them free range out doors and not penned up they will. There is plenty space to get along. IF you pen them they need a super large cage and be sure that the chickens have a space to get away from harrassing turkeys. Turkeys are more territorial and dominating when being fed. So if plan to pen them I would keep them seperated. My turkeys, geese, ducks, phesants, and various breeds of chickens all get along but they are free ranging on the farm.

  3. Yes they get along just fine.

    I breed & raise turkeys, ducks, chickens, geese & quail & the only seperations are my commercial laying flock & anything im breeding from.

  4. I’m sure they get along, but it is a very bad idea to raise them together. Turkeys are very prone to diseases when raised with chickens, or where chickens have once lived. They can get blackhead or sinusitus, which are both diseases.
