Every DIY I have seen so far mentioned this… Great tip.
Good point. I have read a lot of diy builds and magazine articles and no one ever brought that up before. I will have to look into if that is a problem or not.
Unfortunately, I priced dirt by the truckload this year and the price is really high. It is $20-25 per yard and there is about 12-15 yards in a truck load. And they don’t deliver in smaller quantities than a full truck load. So it would be minimum $250-300 for dirt.
The dirt would have been cheaper if gone to one of those landscaping supply wholesale shop. It is usually $30-$32/ton with little delivery you would have more and better soil for less. Really nicely done, and illustrated well. Thanks.
FYI for those of us who don’t have power tools to cut maybe have your store cut the wood for you if you know your measurements ahead of time.
I would worry about the treated wood – those chemicals are going to leech into the soil and wind up in your lettuce. But a great tutorial nonetheless.
