Cantaloupe update: Melon gods let the bugs feast

Well it sure was fun to grow this melon even if the bugs were the ones to eat it. I went out of town about a week ago and I should have picked the melon at that time…I saw a small hole on one side, then turned it over to find larger holes filled with gnats & bugs.

  1. @Thagirion9 Great idea, I do have a bunch of pantyhose left over from making the rain barrel filters. I’ll try that and see how it goes. I just found some small pumpkins starting to grow this morning in the garden…I hope the worms stay clear 🙂

  2. Oh man that sucks. I hate bugs. You could try covering the new ones with pantihose. Or make a light screen net around them. This video can go well with my sad one about my pumpkin patch getting eaten by melon worms.
