Here’s how I can walnut syrup. It’s great on ice cream, pancakes, whatever you can think of.

I’ve seen approved recipes that include walnuts, pecans and almonds but I’ve never seen them include peanuts. Although, the USDA gives instructions for canning boiled peanuts. Keep in mind that peanuts aren’t nuts, they’re legumes so they might need to be handled differently.
This syrup is good on ice cream but it’s even better on pancakes. The blandness of the pancakes really brings out the flavor of the syrup and walnuts.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I’m new to canning, and I’ve been eyeing that recipe in the Ball Blue book. I wasn’t sure whether I should do it, but you’ve convinced me. I’m going to give it a try. Thanks again! ~Bonnie
I bought the bottles from Fillmore Containers. They’re online and their prices are very reasonable but they’re on the east coast so if you’re out west the shipping charges can be expensive. For home canning they recommend using the bottles that are the CT type (continuous thread). They are threaded like our canning jars, not like commercial jars. But see my Bottle Canning Experiment video. I realized some commercial bottles have button tops so you can tell if they seal. Reuse bottles.
Where did you find bottles like that to can in? I love your videos and find that even this ol’ grannie learns new things everyday. Thank you for your kindness to stranger and your desire to inform others.

This would make a nice Christmas gift. I’m working on another video, banana nut butter, which would also make a nice gift. It’s real good. You can find that recipe on Sure Jell’s website.
Yum! I will be making this recipe. This will make a lovely Christmas gift – a nice change from a jar of jam I usually give. Love the idea of adding molasses. Thanks for the great video!

It’s the one that has a picture of peach cobbler on the front cover. It usually costs around $7 and is sold wherever you can buy canning jars.

I think they would do fine. Have you ever tried to make your own Nutella? Isn’t that made with hazelnuts?

I’ve been canning up a storm lately. I made videos of some of it but my camera is acting up and I lost a lot of it.
