Question by ..Breelyn..: Can you have whey powder as a vegetarian?
I want to use it. I’m sooo much into fitness, but I don’t want it if it has animal in it.. dairy is ok.. Any info would help!
I don’t eat meat or fish(anything with a brain, eyes, heart), but I drink milk and eat eggs
Can you help? Leave your own answer in the comments!
Whey is from milk, so if you are a lacto-ova (one who eats eggs and milk or even just milk for that matter) you can have whey. If you are a vegan (one who doesnt ingest or use ANY animal products) then no.

Whey is a very good source of protein, the best is goat whey. goats dont pass insectisides on to humans as do cows however there is a veggie protein powder that is better!!!
Yes, vegetarians can can have milk but not vegans. If you are a vegetarian very long you will probably drop milk products. Especially cows milk -it seems to irratate the intestines quite a bit

This all depends. I am a vegan. there is lactovegetarian meaning:you exclude meat, poultry, fish, and eggs and it does include dairy products. There is a strict vegetarian/vegan and you exclude all animal products, dairy, eggs, dairy, poultry, fish, and ALL MEAT. Then lastly you have Lacto-ovovegetarian, this means a vegetarian diet that excludes meat, poultry, and fish. But it includes eggs and dairy. Most vegetarians in the usa fall under this catagory, looking at this and what kind you are… you tell me.

Whey or milk plasma is the liquid remaining after milk has been curdled and strained; it is a by-product of the manufacture of cheese or casein and has several commercial uses. Whey is used to produce ricotta and brown cheeses and many other products for human consumption. It is also an additive in many processed foods, including breads, crackers and commercial pastry, and in animal feed. Whey proteins primarily consist of α-lactalbumin and β-lactoglobulin. Depending on the method of manufacture, whey may also contain glycomacropepti

Whey is dairy by-product so if you drink and eat dairy you are fine to have whey in your diet.
Good for you for checking.
