Question by wgeneski: Can I keep pygmy goats and chickens together in the same shed/coup?
Your Question
I am thinking about raising a couple of pygmy goats. Can I keep goats and chickens in the same shed?
I am just wondering if I can keep pygmy goats and chickens together in the same shed as long as it is big enough for both. I was thinking like 2 goats and 4-5 chickens? Anyone know if this would be a problem keeping them together?
What do you think? Answer below!
I had goats years ago and the farm where I purchased them from had goats and chickens living together and sharing the barn. The nest boxes were separate though and enclosed in chicken wire ~ to keep out predators more than the goats.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the goats offered some protection to the chickens as well. “Some”… I think unless you have a Llama, or guardian dog, anything can fall prey to coyotes.

yes, but poultry food is poisonous to goats so be sure to feed them separately. (or just feed the chickens goat food)
