Its for a pool room shower so it only has to work in the summer. We would be installing it ourselves.

  2. There are designs for solar water heaters on the internet that you can build yourself. A $ 100.00 doesn’t leave many options.

  3. you could build your own, out of one of those black plastic drums ( available in 15 to 50 gal. sizes) you could use an animal water-trough float fill valve. elevate drum to stand in full sunlight. put a shut off valve on the fill line ( so hot water not being cooled while you are using it. Works for me at deer lease. Good Luck>

  4. I’d agree with Johnie’s answer…just buy a black plastic 30 gallon drum (food grade) and fill it with water, elevate it or use a small pump and set it in sunlight. Another option is the buy black plastic flexible PVC or copper piping in a coil and mount it to a board placed in sunlight…use enough pipe to make up the amount of water you need…a conversion table can tell you how many gallons a section of pipe diameter will hold. Flexible copper pipe would transfer heat the best but is expensive. Be careful of water temps as they can get pretty hot in full sunlight….perhaps setup a mixing valve with cold water as well.

  5. Go to a camping supply store. Look at what they have and get some ideas.
